Alberta Health Services Receives Tech for their Clients

By electronic recycling association November 12, 2020

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is thrilled to announce the donation of 5 iPads and a laptop to clients of Alberta Health Services.

The tablets will accommodate virtual platform downloads for virtual counselling sessions as well as for virtual educational purposes. Youth are vulnerable and require equipment support to keep engaged with community treatment supports. The laptop will be given to a vulnerable client who will use it for job searches.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is Canada’s first and largest province-wide, fully-integrated health system, responsible for delivering health services to nearly 4.4 million people living in Alberta, as well as to some residents of Saskatchewan, B.C. and the Northwest Territories. Programs and services are offered at over 850 facilities throughout the province, including hospitals, clinics, continuing care facilities, cancer centres, mental health facilities and community health sites. The province also has an extensive network of community-based services designed to assist Albertans in maintaining and/or improving their overall health status.

AHS supports their people by creating a culture in which everyone feels safe, healthy, and valued, and can reach their full potential. To accomplish this, AHS has set a clear vision, with a shared purpose and common goals. AHS is committed to developing excellent leadership that will respect, value and support their people and provide the resources needed to work together effectively.

The ERA works with organizations across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. Because the Electronic Recycling Association is an advocate of equality, we are not specifically affiliated with a given charity. The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors’ homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.

We strive to meet reasonable requests for IT and related equipment, such as computers, laptops, projection equipment, printers, phones and related peripherals. Our goal is to fulfill every single reasonable request for a computer donation that we receive, and we are thrilled to announce that we are getting close to achieving this goal. Since 2004, we have donated thousands of computers to Canadians in need and this number grows daily.

Schedule a pickup with ERA and contribute to our mission of providing refurbished computers to those in need.
