Brightside Community Homes Foundation receive five computers from the Electronic Recycling Association this week.

Brightside Community Homes Foundation is a trusted non-profit organization that provides safe and secure affordable homes for those struggling to meet the demands of market housing – specifically seniors, families and people with disabilities. Brightside builds resilient communities throughout Vancouver, and is one of the city’s largest and longest-standing housing societies. They own and manage over 25 buildings comprising over 900 homes.

In 2017, Brightside embarked upon survey research aimed at understanding residents’ needs. Amongst the findings, many expressed barriers to accessing health-related resources required to safely age-in-place within their homes and communities.

As such, Brightside is developing a centralized resource for residents to access support services. The objective of the project is to create an application via tablets as a centralized resource that is accessible, operator and user friendly. Having access to computers will help pilot this project and will become a great asset to not only the staff but the residents using them.

ERA is thrilled to donate five computers to this phenomenal organization in the hope it will teach their residents new skills.
