Technology has never been more important ever since we saw the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Way of life has altered for everyone and having access to a computer to continue to work and stay connected is essential. The Calgary Neuropathy Association (CNA) had to stop all in-person meetings for the community and for their board meetings. They all volunteer, and one board member did not have access to a computer, nor could he afford one. The ERA was happy to help out by donating a laptop. President of this non-profit, Sylvia Donley said, “It is greatly appreciated. During this time of home-staying, it’s even more important to stay connected.” Check out this great video CNA made for ERA!

The Calgary Neuropathy Association’s mission is to ensure through education, discussion and peer support that people living with neuropathy and neuropathic pain — as well as their loved ones — have a place where they can talk, ask questions, and be heard. Visit their website here.

Objectives:

  • Facilitate education and peer support for individuals and their loved ones who suffer from and/or are impacted by neuropathic pain
  • Raise awareness about neuropathy and neuropathic pain among the public and the health care community
  • Gather and inform members of our community resources
  • Participate in national and international awareness and information exchange with related organizations

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.
