Cambie Community Centre Collection Event Helps to Raise Donations for Seniors

By electronic recycling association March 17, 2021

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) was delighted to partner with the Cambie Community Centre for a collection & data destruction event. We brought our hard drive shredder for individuals to protect their personal data by destroying their drives. In addition, we were proud to donate 12 laptops to assist the seniors of the community centre! Click here to visit their website.

“I wanted to say a huge thank you to the ERA for donating these lovely laptops that will be given to seniors and make a big difference in life and help them be connected with our community again. It’s a wonderful organization and we’re so happy to be a part of it and to partner with you,” said the president of Cambie Community Centre.

Collect Unwanted Electronic Items With Ease

The ERA can provide a variety of collection receptacles for ongoing use at no charge. The purpose of these collection bins is to offer an accessible solution for disposing of unwanted computers and handheld devices. The ERA will deliver your choice of electronic recycling containers to be placed in a location where they will be most beneficial. The ERA would then either set up regularly occurring pick-up dates on an ongoing basis (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and/or pick-up and empty (or replace) these receptacles as necessary and requested.

Onsite recycling bins offer a simple solution for the donation of unwanted items, they’re also great for illustrating your organization’s commitment to green business practices and community investment.

In addition, if you are a charitable organization in need of computers, helping the ERA with a collection event will entitle you to priority status on our donations request list!

About ERA

The Electronic Recycling Association is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment, and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.
