The ERA works with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. Donation recipients are grateful to receive computers from us and are so impressed with the computers that we have repeat requests. The iTechSkills Centre loves the 45 devices we have donated to them over the years including the  10 desktop computers, 5 laptops and 2 monitors we recently provided. They use these computers to grow their training classes to help individuals upgrade their skills.

iTechSkills Centre is a non-for-profit, community-based organization committed to assisting individuals to enhance their knowledge of Information Technology (IT) either for employment or in their day-to-day life using technology with a focus on individuals who identify as new immigrants, First Nations, Inuit or Métis, racial minorities, women or youth and persons who were previously incarcerated.

Recognizing the need of technology to improve and develop our community, iTechSkills aims to enable individuals to upgrade and update their skills to participate and integrate more fully in Canadian society. It aims to assist them in acquiring the technical skills needed for their careers and to achieve self-determination as well as economic, social and political equality.

Because the Electronic Recycling Association is an advocate of equality, we are not specifically affiliated with a given charity. The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.

We strive to meet reasonable requests for IT and related equipment, such as computers, laptops, projection equipment, printers, phones and related peripherals. Our goal is to fulfill every single reasonable request for a computer donation that we receive, and we are thrilled to announce that we are getting close to achieving this goal. Since 2004, we have donated thousands of computers to Canadians in need and this number grows daily.

When your business schedules a pickup with ERA , we will work to put those devices back into the hands of those who need them most. Join us on our mission to decrease the “digital divide” and provide charities and individuals with the tech required for success!
