The Electronic Recycling Association is proud to support the Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton with 20 laptops. This non-profit organization provides services to children with autism and other developmental disorders along with a range of services and supports for families.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to the ERA…Their most recent donation of 20 laptops will allow us to stay connected to our families in this new virtual world. The ERA is a wonderful example of what we can accomplish when we come together to support families in our community,” said Executive Director Terri Duncan.

Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton has dedicated, dynamic and qualified professionals providing family centred programming.  Through specialized services, the children and families in their organization experience high levels of success and continue to meet and exceed their goals.  Families are supported and empowered with strategies that will help them cope and prepare them for the future.

Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton is a flexible program and relies on the most recent evidence regarding best practices for children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. They use the SCERTS™ framework to guide programming. Functional communication skills and social engagement are a high priority given the impact these skills have on the development of independence. Functional communication training provides alternatives to challenging behaviour. Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton promotes child-initiated interactions and functional meaningful activities. A focus on practical daily living skills is important for long-term success.

Individuals with autism are different, not less. Edmonton’s generosity has made this one of the best places in Canada to help support a child with autism. They have extended their reach to provide distance services to families across the province. Support services can be transforming – even life-changing. Please consider supporting their efforts.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization that has been reducing unnecessary electronic waste since 2004. We reduce adverse environmental contribution through electronic recycling, repurposing and through the donation of electronics and other IT Equipment. With a number of drop off locations around Canada based primarily out of Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg, and an electronic pickup service, the ERA provides a meaningful way for organizations and individuals to deal with their old computer equipment in a safe and secure manner that matches or exceeds government standards.

We work with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. You can get involved by simply disposing of your unwanted electronics with the ERA. Make a drop off at one of our 7 depots Canada wide or contact us to see if you qualify for a free pickup!
