The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) works with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns, or are otherwise experiencing misfortune.
We receive requests for charities, non-profits, schools, and care facilities all across Canada. Organizations both large and small reach out to ERA for computers and other IT related items. Our goal is to fulfill every single reasonable request for a computer donation that we receive. Since 2004, we have donated thousands of computers to Canadians in need and this number grows daily.
The ERA is excited to help a new Calgary non-profit that only recently incorporated in Feb 2020. Reaching the Unreachable Ltd is a home-based organization looking to empower the underprivileged, particularly the youth of the community. We donated 3 printers and 2 projectors to be used by their staff and we plan on providing them with computers and laptops as soon as they become available.
With everything that has been going on due to Covid-19, we have seen a drastic increase in the demand for donations from charities and non-profits and a substantial decrease in inventory coming into ERA which is causing extended wait times for donation recipients. We need help finding organizations that are looking to dispose of their IT equipment so that we have inventory to donate back to the community.
