ERA Donates Laptop to Alberta Theatre Projects

By electronic recycling association March 10, 2021

The ERA is proud to have recently donated a laptop to Alberta Theatre Projects (ATP).   They will be using it for administrative work inside the organization to help them push forward their mission.

Alberta Theatre Projects is a Calgary-based, not-for-profit, professional theatre company. ATP creates world-class contemporary theatre from their home inside the Martha Cohen Theatre. They are a national leader in new play development. Programming is driven by the collision of diverging ideas, points of view, class, gender, or cultural perspectives and is selected from the finest Canadian and international plays and new works commissioned and developed in-house. ATP’s productions radically explore their space, blurring the line between the audience and the artist through multiple seating configurations each season.

The ATP are provocative contemporary storytellers, reflecting the world through stirring theatrical experiences with the following core values:

KINDNESS: They are guided every day by the principles of kindness, respect, and integrity.

EXCELLENCE: They pride themselves on quality, ensuring every element of the operations and the work they put on stage is exceptional.

INCLUSIVENESS: They celebrate human connection and the diversity of the world with an emphasis on inclusion and accessibility.

INNOVATION: ATP explores magical ideas, creativity, and the power of imagination to create new ways of working on stage and behind the scenes.

COMMUNITY: Brings together people from every corner of our city, province and nation to share in the power of storytelling.

The ERA works with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. Because the Electronic Recycling Association is an advocate of equality, we are not specifically affiliated with a given charity. The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.

We strive to meet reasonable requests for IT and related equipment, such as computers, laptops, projection equipment, printers, phones and related peripherals. Our goal is to fulfill every single reasonable request for a computer donation that we receive, and we are thrilled to announce that we are getting close to achieving this goal. Since 2004, we have donated thousands of computers to Canadians in need and this number grows daily.

If you are looking to safely and securely dispose of any unwanted electronics, call the ERA to see if you are eligible for a free pickup. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.
