ERA Partners with Tree Canada to Plant 400 Trees Across Canada

By electronic recycling association December 2, 2021

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce our partnership with Tree Canada to plant 400 trees across the country supporting the organization’s reforestation efforts through its National Greening Program.

The ERA works with partners all over Canada to bring awareness to individuals on the importance of sustainability. ERA is focused on reducing the negative impact e-waste has on the environment through the refurbishment and reuse of IT-related devices. By repurposing unwanted electronics, we can donate refurbished equipment to charitable organizations and individuals in need.

Partnering with Tree Canada was a natural choice to help bring positive impact directly to the regions we serve. Tree Canada is the only national non-profit organization dedicated to planting and nurturing trees in rural and urban environments. Through their programs, research and engagement efforts, they have helped restore tree cover in areas hit by natural disasters, guided communities in managing their urban forests, supported over 700 schoolyard greening projects and organized urban forest conferences. To date, with community partners and sponsors, they have planted more than 83 million trees.

Planting trees beautifies and rejuvenates backyards, city streets, and parks. It nurtures Canada’s heritage of biodiversity and multifaceted landscape. Not only that – it cleans the air. Canadians can breathe easier knowing that every tree planted helps to combat climate change, absorbing carbon dioxide emissions and producing oxygen. Tree Canada is committed to working with its corporate and government partners, as well as individual donors to support tree-planting programs, including providing ReLeaf’ to areas that have experienced natural disasters, offering funding to communities for fruit-bearing trees, providing schools with outdoor greenspaces, and more. The trees they plant are a living legacy that benefits communities for decades to come.
