ERA pleads companies to help organizations work remotely and to help families gain access to laptops to educate their children from home

The Electronic Recycling Association is pleading for companies to think of the organizations and families in need of technology in these current circumstances.

Calgary, AB (March 18th, 2020) – In light of the recent outbreak of the COVID – 19 in Canada, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleading to companies and individuals to help those non-profits who do not have the tech requirements to work remotely from home. This morning, ERA spoke to several organizations on the growing concern that they may need to close during COVID-19 as they do not have the technology to work from home. In addition, ERA is receiving requests from families who do not own a laptop or computer and depend solely on libraries, so that their kids can complete their homework. However, now that the libraries recently closed they are in need of donations now more than ever.

ERA is taking the initiative and offering free pickups in local areas for companies and individuals with unwanted laptops and computers. This will give organizations the option to work remotely which will ease their potential anxiety from working at their offices. It will also ensure that children are able to keep on top of their homework.

ERA is a non-profit organization that has been reducing unnecessary electronic waste since 2004. We reduce adverse environmental contributions through electronic recycling, repurposing and through the donation of electronics and other IT Equipment. With a number of drop off locations around Canada based primarily out of Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg, and electronic pickup service, the ERA provides a meaningful way for organizations and individuals to deal with their old computer equipment in a safe and secure manner that matches or exceeds government standards.

Speaking with Jessica Lifely, Marketing Manager at the ERA, she states, “Now is the time to donate your unwanted electronics to ERA, so that organizations have the option to work remotely from home and families are able to educate their children and keep up to date with schooling. With COVID – 19 still a current topic of conversation in the news, ERA wishes to spread some good news and get the community involved by working together to donate to this cause”.
