The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to announce they have expanded their relationship with Ruckify and will be working together in Vancouver and surrounding areas. The partnership in Calgary was a great success and we are looking forward to helping charities and individuals in need of tech in BC.
The joint partnership between Ruckify and the ERA is appealing to businesses and individuals to donate or rent their technology: phones, tablets, and laptops that could be put to critical use during this crisis. By utilizing Ruckify’s rent anything marketplace that facilitates the rental and delivery of everyday items, a safe and insured donation can be expected, whether it be permanent or temporary. Ruckify believes in communities sharing, collaborating & helping foster growth while promoting sustainability, and hopes to use its marketplace to provide support for community relief programs in the cities it operates.
The ERA is a non-profit organization that aims to reduce the negative impact e-waste has on the environment. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment, and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment.
Ruckify is the world’s largest peer-to-peer rental marketplace and offers the opportunity for individuals and companies to lend or rent out their items to their local communities at a low cost. Through the pandemic, people have been able to supplement their income by using the site to rent their belongings. This has helped many families make it through these challenging times and Ruckify is taking it a step further by partnering with local charities to provide community relief efforts.
“It’s an absolute blessing to have partnered with the Electronics Recycling Association of BC. This partnership will help amplify what matters most to both of our organizations, which is helping our communities and our planet” – Steve Cody, Co-Founder of Ruckify.
Viewing regular access to a personal computer as a non-essential luxury is a thing of the past. Even basic activities now require the use of a computer; applying for a job, completing schoolwork, staying in touch with family or even something as simple as looking up a bus route is difficult without a computer. Due to the circumstances surrounding Covid-19, a computer has become more essential now than ever.
There are many people and organizations in immediate need of computers, laptops, iPads and other IT related devices. You can provide an immediate lifeline to critical services for the most vulnerable, just by donating new your unused technological devices through Ruckify and ERA.
Check out their website here to donate or rent your items or contact ERA to inquire about our pickup service.
