Confederation Park 55+ Activity Centre has played a vital role in the lives of older adults since it was established in 1973 to enhance the lives of older adults in Calgary’s northwest. Today, over 740 members from around the city connect with each other through ongoing educational, recreational and social services programs.
Confederation Park 55+ Activity Centre is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization working to help older adults reap the benefits of an active lifestyle. The Centre provides a vibrant and stimulating atmosphere for maintaining and enhancing the mental and physical well-being of Calgary’s adults. Members enjoy a variety of dance, music, art, technology and exercise classes taught by some of the top instructors in the city. Member’s clubs satisfy many interests and create a lot of laughter and fun.
The ERA was thrilled to donate 8 laptops and 2 iPads for classes to teach seniors how to use technology. We are happy to support them in their vision to respond to the needs of the community by connecting adults with opportunities for social interaction, education and volunteerism, for mental and physical well-being.
Whether your schedule is busy or bare, there’s a volunteer opportunity to show you care. Lend a hand once a year, once a week, or once in a while.
Opportunities include:
Reception: The friendly reception our members and guests receive starts with your friendly face at the reception desk.
Boutique: Flex your fashion muscles in our boutique, full of unique handicrafts and gently used clothing.
Kitchen: If you know the difference between a spatula and a coffee pot, put your culinary skills to work in our kitchen, providing light lunches to our members.
Board of Directors: Stand at the helm and help set the course of the Centre as we look toward the future.
Special Events: There’s always something special on the horizon. Extra hands are always appreciated for extra-big events
Tea & Conversation: Join the lively crew on Thursday afternoons to serve tea, dance and mingle!
Committees: Do you love planning a party?
