Friends of the Aviary Receives a Donated Projector

By electronic recycling association March 12, 2020

The Friends of the Aviary is a non-profit organization run 100% by volunteers. Together, along with the support of donations from the community, they strive to ensure that their flock receives the love and care it needs to thrive! The Hamilton Aviary provides a sanctuary for exotic birds in need of a home and/or healing due to no fault of their own.

The Friends of the Aviary are more than volunteers who run the Aviary. They are stewards preserving the beauty of aviculture for generations to come. Their activities inspire visitors to develop a deeper connection with nature and form a community of compassionate caretakers.

Their mission is to advocate for exotic birds; rehabilitate and retrain; educate and foster academics; focus on the health and wellness of people and birds, and create a beautiful attraction and destination. They seek to use the Aviary and their flock as an educational tool to improve awareness of nature, conservation, and the many aspects of responsible care required by exotic birds. Their Vision: Healing Hamilton with humanity, compassion, and feathered friends. For their community. For the love of birds.

Their volunteers are the heart of the flock! If you have an interest in volunteering with their avian friends, sign up and start your new friendship today by clicking here. Friends of the Aviary received a projector that will be used daily for presentations and staff meetings. They are in need of laptops. ERA is working on getting these laptops to this organization as soon as possible. These laptops will be used to serve as the aviary’s ‘data hub’ – analyzing, storing, and recording the data they collect every day on the health of their birds and the status of their visitors and volunteers. These laptops are needed for the numerous outings they do – once again to record and centralize their resources and data on-the-go. Speaking with Caitlin Smyth, a volunteer at Friends of the Aviary she said, “Thank you very much for the donation”.
