Lending a Lifeline by Lending Laptops

Over the course of the last few days, ERA has seen an increase in donation requests, primarily families who, before COVID-19 did not own a laptop or a computer and would attend their local libraries to gain online access for the likes of school work. However, they are now contacting ERA to apply for a laptop to be able to teach their children from home.

ERA has decided to start a new program with the help of Canadian businesses working with us to supply laptops and computers to families in need.

Some options for families in need include the following:

ERA has a lease to own a laptop program to help with homework, socializing with family who may be in self-isolation or using it for work. Fill in the form below for more information.
  • Budget Laptops:
If you are a family who has the means to buy a laptop but you do not want to spend a crazy amount on this device, we have the answer. ERA has budget laptops available to be purchased through filling in the form below.

About ERA

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.

***Please note, currently, we have a high demand on laptops and we are trying to fulfill as much as possible. We are in need of laptops and computers to help us do this. So, please spread the word! Once you have applied, please give ERA 1-3 days to reply – thank you
