Literal Change in Toronto Receives Laptop and 3 Printers

By electronic recycling association October 29, 2020

The Electronic Recycling Association’s mandate is to close the digital divide which has become even more apparent during the pandemic. We are thrilled to donate a laptop and 3 printers to Literal Change in Toronto. The laptop will be given to a client who does not have reliable access to one so that they can access online education opportunities through their programs.

Literal Change is all about providing a positive academic setting for people who have struggled in the mainstream classroom. They work specifically to improve the literacy levels of communities and populations who have experienced limited access to educational supports and alternative learning strategies.

Their team is made up of individuals from various walks of life and backgrounds. They have an understanding of the barriers that are being faced in vulnerable Toronto communities.

They feel that everyone has a right to access education, and that with effective strategies and supports, individuals will be able to reach their career and academic potential.

  • They teach the foundational skills of reading and writing
  • They strive to create a positive educational environment for each student
  • Their goal is to help our students build confidence and self-esteem
  • They offer targeted strategies that meet the needs of our individual learners

Visit their website here to learn more about their programs.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization committed to reducing unnecessary electronic waste by recycling and repurposing used electronics. We work with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune.

Donating your used electronics is as simple as giving us a call or contacting us online. Schedule a pickup date with our team or visit one of our donation depots Canada-wide. We accept used desktops, notebooks, computer peripherals, software, and more.
