At the ERA, drop-offs are typically free of charge at any of our locations in Canada and the U.S. However, we do apply costs to the following items: TVs, Microwaves, floor model copiers and printers, and services, including data destruction.

Any pickup charges applied to our services are based on location, the number of items, service requirements, etc. Fortunately, we will often waive costs during the multiple promotions we have throughout the year or for members and high-valued donations.

When it comes to electronic recycling in Montreal, the ERA can data wipe or destroy media such as hard drives, tapes, floppy discs, CDs etc., using Blancco software. Secure data wiping is inclusive and free of charge.

However, the cost of data destruction can range anywhere from $0.00ea – $5.00ea, depending on the donated equipment, media and membership status. Certification is often provided within 10 business days after the service has been completed. Serial numbers can also be provided upon request.

At the ERA, our primary focus is to repurpose and donate your equipment. However, there are some circumstances where we offer equipment at a low cost. This allows us to not only avoid recycling functioning devices but also offers an opportunity to individuals to receive a computer at a discounted price, as many cannot afford them at full cost.

Our donation process is designed for non-profit, business, charity & educational-type facilities. All funds are used to benefit the organization and allow the ERA to operate and provide low-cost or free services throughout Canada.
