Loyola Youth Development Association Receives 5 Laptops

By electronic recycling association February 6, 2020

Back in 2019, we donated 5 laptops to the Loyola Youth Development Association. The Loyola Center is a community organization located in the heart of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district. The center offers a variety of educational, sporting and recreational activities targeting school-aged children at the primary and secondary levels. They aim to promote the improvement of individuals in a safe and positive environment, by promoting the cognitive development of young people, self-expression and self-esteem, and individual responsibility.

Their goal is to create a safe, positive environment in which there is always room for and movement towards improvement and growth. They take great pride in their programs at Loyola Center, they promote respectful treatment of others and a strong sense of belonging. Their participants, parents, staff, volunteers, and guests are ambassadors who invite others to visit the center based on their own experiences and to become a part of the Loyola Family.

Every individual is encouraged to take on the challenges of personal growth while contributing to the growth of Loyola Center. The Loyola Center provides educational, cultural, social recreational and community programs to the children, adolescents, and adults of the community. They aim to ensure the needs of the community are met through providing access to quality programming, delivered in partnership with educational institutions, community organizations, and programs and services offered by various levels of government.

This donation will be used for the association’s afterschool program.  They will mostly be used by the children to complete their homework. The afterschool homework program is an affordable program for children between the ages of 6 and 12. Children are supervised and receive support to complete their homework. Once their school work is done, the program includes a multitude of different activities including science, sport, art, and access to computers.
