MNA Manon Massé to present Two Montreal Community Focused Organizations with IT Donations

The Electronic Recycling Association donates refurbished laptops to LOVE (Quebec) and Studio XX with the help of local MNA

Montreal, QC (September 12th, 2019) – The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), and MNA of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Jacques, Manon Masse will partner together to improve two organizations’ IT needs. LOVE (Quebec) and Studio XX will receive a donation of laptops.

LOVE (Quebec) supports youth to thrive through programs and healthy relationships that build emotional intelligence and help overcome the challenges they face. They will receive five laptops from the ERA. Studio XX is a feminist and bilingual artist center engaged in the exploration, creation and critical reflection in media arts. They will receive seven laptops from the ERA.

Speaking with Manon Massé, MNA of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Jacques she explains, “Since outdated electronic devices contain toxic materials that require appropriate treatment, it’s better to give them a second life, rather than throwing them in the trash! That is why this kind of initiative is a wonderful response to counter programmed obsolescence, reduce the ecological footprint while meeting the needs of community organizations!”

Bojan Paduh, Founder and President of the ERA proclaims, “It is rewarding knowing that respected members of the community like MNA Manon Massé share our vision in creating a more sustainable environment. We are thrilled to provide refurbished laptops to organizations like LOVE and Studio XX. These laptops were donated by businesses who believe in a “Reuse First” approach. ”

This donation event will take place in Montreal at Studio XX on January 24th at 1 pm. Media are welcome to attend this donation.

About the Electronic Recycling Association

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment, and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in managing the waste created by computer hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all equipment we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of equipment. Because not everything ERA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process equipment that has reached the end of its productive life.
