MPP Randy Pettapiece Partners with Non-Profit to Donate Technology
MPP Randy Pettapiece visits the Stratford Symphony Orchestra to Donate 3 laptops with the Electronic Recycling Association
Stratford, ON (December 6, 2019) – The Electronic Recycling Association will be working with MPP Randy Pettapiece to donate 3 laptops to the Stratford Symphony Orchestra. The Stratford Symphony Orchestra was founded as the Stratford Civic Orchestra in 2004 by educator and arts manager Yootha Neller. Her goal was to establish a fine orchestra within the Stratford community to present excellent performances with a broad stylistic range.
The orchestra draws musicians from throughout southern Ontario, including the cities of Kitchener, London, and Toronto, as well as from the Stratford area, which is home to many musicians, actors and other artists drawn to the area by its rich and diverse cultural community. In 2009, the orchestra changed its name to the Stratford Symphony Orchestra (SSO) to reflect its growing reputation for musical excellence.
Speaking with Robert Blackwell, SSO System Coordinator expressed his thanks, “We are very thankful for this wonderful news on our donation being filled. We are excited to receive these devices.” This donation will replace their old laptops that cannot be upgraded from windows 7. Their agents will benefit mostly by this donation by using them in the field for more convenience.
“We are looking forward to donating to the Stratford Symphony Orchestra tomorrow.” Said Bojan Paduh, Founder of The Electronic Recycling Association. “We wish them all the best for the future and are extremely proud to have them in our community.”
The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over ten years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction.
