Shell Canada & ERA Partner to Donate Laptops to Sunrise Healing Lodge

By electronic recycling association June 17, 2022

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is proud to have clients like Shell Canada who is a large contributor to our donations program. Together we donated 4 laptops to the Sunrise Healing Lodge Society in Calgary Alberta.  The devices will be used by staff to connect online with their clients in the Calgary community.

Shell Canada is an integrated energy company that aims to meet the world’s growing demand for energy in ways that are economically, environmentally and socially responsible. As a global energy company operating in a challenging world, they set high standards of performance and ethical behaviours. They are judged by how they act – their reputation is upheld by how they live up to our core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people.

The Sunrise Healing Lodge provides addiction treatments since 1975, through Indigenous Culture & the 12 step program of recovery to people of ALL WALKS OF LIFE.  Their all-NEW revolutionary treatment program seamlessly blends culture and the 12-step program, allowing our clients to work through all 12 steps while in treatment, using cultural practices to connect with their spirituality.  Sunrise also offers the only TRUE ZERO BARRIER OUTPATIENT PROGRAM of its kind in Calgary. The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 to address the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide’. For over fifteen years, ERA has offered simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada.

We work with charities across the country to provide refurbished electronics for their programs. This gives them access to reliable technology while allowing them to apply their resources to what they’re good at: developing programs to help Canadians struggling with poverty, health concerns or are otherwise experiencing misfortune. Because the Electronic Recycling Association is an advocate of equality, we are not specifically affiliated with a given charity. The ERA helps hundreds of charitable organizations each year through the donation of necessary computer equipment. Organizations qualified for donations through ERA’s donation program include: registered charities, non-profit organizations, care facilities (seniors homes, hospitals, daycares, etc.) and educational institutions.
