Stratford Symphony Orchestra Receives Tech Donation

By electronic recycling association December 10, 2019

Last week, we were thrilled to team up with MPP Randy Pettapiece to donate 3 laptops to the Stratford Symphony Orchestra.

The Stratford Symphony Orchestra was founded as the Stratford Civic Orchestra in 2004 by educator and arts manager Yootha Neller. Her goal was to establish a fine orchestra within the Stratford community to present excellent performances with a broad stylistic range.

The orchestra draws musicians from throughout southern Ontario, including the cities of Kitchener, London, and Toronto, as well as from the Stratford area, which is home to many musicians, actors and other artists are drawn to the area by its rich and diverse cultural community. In 2009, the orchestra changed its name to the Stratford Symphony Orchestra (SSO) to reflect its growing reputation for musical excellence.

Speaking with Robert Blackwell, SSO System Coordinator expressed his thanks, “We are very thankful for this wonderful news on our donation being filled. We are excited to use the devices.” This donation will replace their old laptops that cannot be upgraded from windows 7. Their agents will benefit most by this donation by using them in the field for more convenience.
