Founded in 1993 and located in both Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island, Together We Can – Addiction Recovery & Education Society is one of Canada’s premier treatment centres for men battling alcohol and drug addiction. Their mission is to educate and support men and families who desire a new life in recovery. They provide over 310 men with an immersive 60-90-day recovery-based primary addiction treatment experience, followed by transitional housing in a therapeutic residential environment.

Together We Can recognize that addiction is a chronic, progressive disease and that abstinence is only the beginning of the recovery process. Men participating in their program must develop an awareness of how their thoughts and beliefs block them from wellness and inner peace. It is imperative that each man take personal responsibility for making positive and healthy new choices for themselves.

A key aspect of recovery is learning how to heal interpersonal relationships. The shift from feeling alone and isolated, to being connected and feeling “a part of” is a key part of their program. They provide a safe and loving therapeutic community environment for men to begin their pursuit of a new way of life. Their addiction treatment programs, supported recovery houses, continuing care and alumni initiatives provide clients with an integrated approach to recovery. They believe that long term recovery is most successful when people are provided with health and wellness supports for their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing.

ERA was thrilled to donate one computer and four laptops to Together We Can. They are building a new office space to facilitate their ever-growing program. These computers will be used to help staff access critical information quicker as well as laptops for clients to use in their free time. Together We Can employee, Steven Hall expressed, “Thank you so much for considering our organization for this donation.”.
