The Children’s Foundation in Vancouver is Gifted with 3 Laptops

By electronic recycling association May 11, 2022

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is pleased to announce the donation of 3 laptops to the The Children’s Foundation. They have a few families that have no means of connecting with their counsellors, children’s school etc. These laptops would be used by parents and their children to work with their counsellors, schools and generally be able to connect with friends and family during the COVID19 crisis. These families are otherwise isolated even further given their circumstances.

The Children’s Foundation:

  • Help Families Heal
  • Build Healthy Relationships
  • Develop Skills and Build Self-Confidence
  • Meet Needs
  • Nurture Caregivers
  • Promote Success in School
  • Research

The Mental Health Commission of Canada reports that fully 70% of mental health issues in adulthood have their onset in childhood and early adolescence and that 20% of Canadians suffer from a mental illness. This translates to 1 in 7 children needing our help now. The symptoms for these children are not physically visible, they manifest in behaviour and become apparent more slowly. Difficulties getting along with peers, adults, teachers, poor performance in school, difficulties with emotional self-regulation are often exacerbated by reduced opportunities due to family financial and spousal relationship pressures. Helping them today has positive benefits that will last a lifetime. This is the reason The Children’s Foundation carries on its work. Visit their website for more information.

The ERA (Electronic Recycling Association), is focused on reducing unnecessary waste and/or environmental impact through effective management of retiring electronic and IT equipment.  As a non-profit organization with deep community roots, it is our “reuse” focus and donation activities that set us apart from others in this sector. We are an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 Certified Company that offers pickup services, comprehensive data security measures and subsequent reporting. Individuals and organizations alike move through technology hardware for a number of different reasons, and often there is ongoing productive use.

The ERA believes that “reuse” where ever possible is the most ecological approach to this growing stream, and an excellent way to compel real community goodwill at the same time. The Electronic Recycling Association has a clear mission of reducing electronic waste through computer recycling, laptop recycling and computer donation services. With depots throughout Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and all of Canada. ERA provides a great way to recycle electronic equipment safely and securely.
