Today, we donated thirteen computers to the Victoria Cool Aid Society. On the day, we had Carole James, the MLA for the Victoria-Beacon Hill electoral district partner with us to support the community.
The Victoria Cool Aid Society act to end homelessness by working in partnership with others to develop community-based solutions. They are committed to working in a non-judgmental way with adults experiencing marginalization in Greater Victoria by advocating for and providing emergency shelter, supportive housing, integrated health care and other support services.
These computers will go to the clients of the organization who are badly in need of technology to open up more of an opportunity in Victoria for them. “Cool Aid’s clients will appreciate the opportunity to connect with family and friends, look for housing and more on these computers. We’re grateful that the Electricity Recycling Association are making these 13 refurbished computers available at no cost.” said Nicolas Methot the Client engagement facilitator at Victoria Cool Aid Society.
CBC Radio’s Report, Liz Arthur also made an appearance on the day and did extensive interviews with our Director of Operations, Andrew Wesolowski, Nicolas Methot, the Client engagement facilitator at Victoria Cool Aid Society, MLA Carole James and Lesley, one of the organizations clients who was using a public computer next door in their building.
