Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton Receive a Donation

By electronic recycling association October 9, 2019

Today, ERA donated nine laptops and two computers to the Boys and Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters(BGCBigs) of Edmonton.

Boys and Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters(BGCBigs) is a community-supported organization committed to the healthy development of children, youth, and their families by providing safe places, positive relationships, services, and opportunities to develop personal strengths and interpersonal skills that enhance their long-term success in life. BCGBigs Mentoring and After-School programs seek to support vulnerable children and youth challenged by the impacts of poverty.

The organization also works in partnership with other community organizations to develop and deliver programs geared to specific populations, such as the immigrant and refugee community, the Indigenous community, and other vulnerable groups (e.g. LGBTQ youth).

Their vision is that all children and  youth will have an enriching experience growing up and achieve success in life. We were thrilled to work with them to ensure that their clients receive technology to enhance their daily lives. Some families will use these donated devices to progress in school, improve their computer literacy, update their resumes in hope of finding jobs and to be used as a tool when communicating with their families and friends.

We wish them the best of luck with these devices. If you would like to learn more about this organization, please visit them here.
